Leap Year, Leap Day 29 Feb, 2012

Quote from YLE, 'Leap years are needed to keep the calendar in alignment with the earth's revolutions around the sun, which take 365 and one-quarter days. Leap day is also added to keep the calendar in line with the seasons.'

In Finland, there is a peculiar custom where in the event a man turn down the woman's proposal on this day, the custom mandates him to buy a piece of cloth for his suitor to sew a skirt. Interesting!
