Decided to work from home today so that I can save 45mins of travel time to and from work, plus reducing my safety risk of driving on slippery road (near 0C).
As always, I must multi-tasks when working from home. Nowadays, these has become much easier. When working in the bank, usually I only need to focus on one or two big things in my daily life. Kids are living with my parents, and after 12 hours of work, I only need to take care of myself... i.e. feed myself dinner, then dive straight to bed for a good night sleep.
However, nowadays, as a full time wife, mum of two young kids, a full time lecturer, part time project consultant, a hobby cook etc, there are many hats to wear, and my day is torn into many pieces. Every minute I am wearing one to many hats, doing many big and small matters simultaneously.
At the beginning, this was very challenging and frustrating! I could not concentrate to accomplish any tasks, I felt very disoriented and unorganised. However, the skills to multi-tasks gets better each day, after 5 years of practise.
Today, I could easily manage several big and small things simultaneously, and I learn to take a slower pace of life nowadays. So, progress may be smaller than focusing on one big task, but I could make things happen in small step, slowly, but steadily :) I guess, cudos to myself for the improvements!
