Bounced across this article in a Malaysian newspaper, and reminded me of my very first overseas holiday with a girlfriend to Beijing after having my first salary earning job donkey years ago. It was few days before my birthday, and I celebrated my 25th birthday in Beijing during the trip.
On my birthday then, Beijing was snowing! I still clearly remembered, the aunties in my tour group were sooooooo extremely excited. The moment, they saw the white snow on the ground, they just ran to touch it. Unfortunately, the ground was icy and slippery. Two of them slipped and fell. They were not seriously injured, but slightly bruised.
Anyway, it was a beautiful and amazing sight to see snow then, but never did I even dreamt that one day down the road, I would be living in a place covered with snow for at least 3 to 4 months in a year.
Life is just so strangely interesting, amazing and miraculous.... like a box of chocolate, you never know, till you are actually in the 'stage' when you open the box, and pop one into your moutn :D
